Solved wow64win.dll missing error in Windows 7 Enterprise OS (Rev: 1.0)

When trying to run Microsoft Word from the Microsoft Office 2003 Professional software in a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Operating System (OS), a "wow64win.dll is missing" error prompt occurred. A search for the wow64win.dll in the Windows 7 Enterprise x64 OS failed to locate the wow64win.dll in the system. As a result, a lot of other errors (for examples: cannot open Microsoft Internet Explorer, cannot repair or uninstall the Microsoft Office 2003 Professional software, cannot run any setup program, etc) occurred.

Solution

Copy the C:\Windows\System32\wow64win.dll (361,984 bytes, version 6.1.7600.16385) from another workable Windows 7 Enterprise x64 OS and paste the workable wow64win.dll to the C:\Windows\System32 directory of the problematic computer. After that, restart the computer and performed a update of all the Windows 7 Enterprise x64 OS patches and also the Microsoft Office 2003 Professional software patches.

Reference

[1] Errors may occur when you run a 32-bit program on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 or on a computer that is running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
